Quick and Easy Baking Clay Recipes

  • 2 parts flour
  • 1 part salt
  • 1 part water
  • Place flour and salt into a mixing bowl.
  • Add water gradually, mix and knead for about 2 mins
  • Add more water if mixture is too dry; more flour if its too wet.
  • Add food coloring as desired.
  • After moulding into shapes, place them on a cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 275 degrees F or 140 degrees C for about 1 hour.
  • Increase temperature if you like to brown it.
  • Paint with mixture of glue and tempera paint.

Baking Clay with oil

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup salt
  • 1 to 1 and a half cups of cold water
  • 2 tbs olive oil

Baking Clay with alum

  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 cup salt
  • 1 tsp powdered alum (available at baking section)
  • 1 and a half cups of cold water
  • 2 tbs olive oil


No bake Salt Clay with Cornstarch

  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 2 cups salt
  • 2 sets of 2 third cup of cold water
  • Boil salt in 2 third cup of cold water
  • Mix cornstarch with the other 2 third cup of cold water
  • Mix the two mixtures together and knead.
  • May be air dried.

Baking soda & Cornstarch Clay

  • 2 cups baking soda
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 to 1 and a quarter cup water
  • Combine all ingredients and bring to boil on medium heat, stirring constantly.
  • Turn heat off and keep stirring until required texture
  • Allow clay to dry after creation, or bake at 200 degrees

Sand Clay Recipes

  • 1 cup fine sand
  • Half cup cornstarch
  • Half cup water
  • Combine all ingredients and bring to boil on medium heat, stirring constantly.
  • Turn heat off and keep stirring until required texture
  • Allow clay to dry after creation, or bake at 275 degrees F

Crepe Paper Clay Recipes

  • 1 cup tiny shredded pieces of crepe paper
  • 1 cup warm water
  • Half to 2 third cup flour
  • Pour warm water over crepe paper.
  • Let it sit for several hours till soft and pliable.
  • Drain out excess water
  • Add half up of flour, mix and knead till required texture.
