    • 1/4 cup margarine or butter
    • 1 pkg regular marshmallows (about 40pcs)
    • 6 cups Rice Krispies Cereal
    • 1/2 tsp vanilla (optional)
    • 2 Tbsp Cocoa powder
    • 1 1/2 tsp peppermint flavoring

    PREPARATION
    • Place margarine and marshmallows in a large bowl
    • Stick it into the microwave
    • Select 2 minutes HIGH
    • Take it out to stir
    • Microwave for another 1 minute till marshmallows become marshy
    • Take it out, add chocolate and peppermint flavor
    • Stir until evenly coated.
    • Press into large cookie cutter shapes with a spatula
    • Push it out when it cools and hardens.

If you don't have enough cookie cutters for your children in the class, you can use a pan (13 x 9 in) and then cut the crisps into squares or bars, or the particular shape you would teach in your lesson for the day.

These easy recipes are safe with some adult supervision, especially when the food is taken out of the microwave.

NOTE

Children should have been trained to carry a tray upright before introducing this activity. Or teachers / parents can help in doing the hot stuff for the younger kids.
