Dinosaur Hunt

by Mary
(USA)

I want to share this great Dinosaur Hunt activity from my preschool lesson plans with you. It's always lots of fun and holds interest of my preschool kids for a very long time!

Dinosaur Hunt

  • Fill a large tub with sand, dirt, and pebbles.
  • Hide plastic dinosaur bones, fake teeth, and/or bone-shaped animal treats in the tub for students to find.
  • Instead of giving them tools, teach them to sift through the dirt with their hands, uncovering one layer at a time.

Let your kids discover all there is to find in the dirt, just like a
real paleontologist.
